Gaibo Shudhu Gaan promises a heartfelt ode to independent music

Eleven independent singer-songwriters from Kolkata get together for an evening of original and independent music at Jadavpur University

A musical landscape cradled and nurtured by the independent music scene of a city is probably the most heartwarming sight, and Kolkata has been no stranger to the same.

To celebrate independent music, Gaibo Shudhu Gaan, with The Telegraph My Kolkata as digital media partner, is an event curated to bring together 11 established, up and coming singer-songwriters from across Kolkata.  The lineup features the likes of Anik Biswas, Akash Chatterjee, Debarshi Ganguly, Kabir Chattopadhyay in an evening dedicated to a contemporary mix of non-film original compositions and the rich sonic tapestry of a city, where independent music has always shown the way.
