Kolkatans, attend this Jean-Luc Godard film festival today

Catch four Godard movies and panel discussions, organised by Alliance Française and Emami Art

Emami Art and Alliance Francaise du Bengale are paying tribute to legendary French film- maker Jean-Luc Godard with a special film festival. The one-day film festival will screen four of his masterpieces — La Chinoise (10.30am-noon), Le Mepris (12.15-2.05pm), A Bout de Souffle (2.45-4.15pm), and Pierrot le Fou (4.30-6.22pm).

Following the screenings, a panel discussion at 6.30pm will see eminent film personalities getting together to discuss Godard’s works. The speakers include director, actor and singer Anjan Dutt, professor of Film Studies at Jadavpur University, Sanjoy Mukhopadhyay, documentary filmmaker Ananya Chakraborty, who is also associated with the Kolkata International Film Festival, and film journalist Ratnottama Sengupta. The session will be moderated by Raju Raman.

Entry to the film festival is free and is suitable for the audience above 18 years.
