AMPM Kolkata to host Sandeep Vyas Tribute Band

Family, friends and fellow musicians will get together to pay homage to the late singer on August 17

As music lovers who frequented live music scenes in the city or partied at private clubs know Sandeep Vyas was a powerhouse of talent and energy. His soulful renditions of popular songs from various decades always got the crowd moving, making it impossible not to dance. Sadly, on July 17, the music fraternity faced a tragic loss as this vibrant star passed away, leaving behind his music, family and friends.

To pay homage to this rockstar, AMPM Kolkata is set to host the Sandeep Vyas Tribute Band on August 17, where loved ones will gather to celebrate his legacy. The band will be led by Sandeep’s daughter, Samara Mehta Vyas, who will carry on his musical spirit through her vocals. Joining her will be Hiten Mukherjee on guitar, Warren Thapa on guitar, Jayam Basu (JB) on drums and Surja Dutta on bass.

“I originally planned a rock and roll night on this date, and my dad shared his favourite songs with me, introducing me to his music. Coincidentally, it’s now the one-month anniversary of his passing, so this show is my tribute to his great taste. I also included songs from his old setlists like Fear of the Dark, Bohemian Rhapsody, Welcome to the Jungle and Jeremy,” said Samara.
