Tribute to Mrinal Sen: Alliance Française to host film screenings

An opportunity for fans to watch the filmmaker’s masterpieces again

Paying homage to legendary filmmaker Mrinal Sen on his birth centenary year, Alliance Française du Bengale is holding a three-day film screening programme, along with a discussion session, from August 9-11, 6pm onwards. The open-for-all programme is in association with Drishya Film Collective, Blue Chalk Studio and Tramline. Films like Calcutta 71, Bhuvan Shome and Antareen will be shown to the audience. Filmmakers Anjan Dutt and Sekhar Das, along with film scholar Prof. Sanjoy Mukhopadhyay, will be attending the discussions. The event will also showcase a series of drawings by painter Hirah Mitra.
