Over 110 junior football enthusiasts from across the city took part in the annual football tournament of Netaji Subhash Football Coaching Camp, a Behala-based philanthropic organisation, on Sunday.

The championship, marking the camp’s second anniversary and pre-Independence Day celebrations, also supported participation of 20-plus underprivileged promising talents under the state category.

The club announced special support for 10 talented yet less privileged kids of the football coaching centre including food, transport, sports accessories like boot, jerseys and regular health check-up.

Kolkata Municipal Corporation ward 121 councillor Rupak Ganguly inaugurated the tournament. Rajya Sabha MP Subhasish Chakraborty, National Gems Higher Secondary School principal Keya Sinha and reputable footballers Dipendu Biswas, Arindam Bhattacharya, Alpona Shil, Kuntala Ghosh Dastidar, Sanjay Sen, Abhisek Das and Nemai Dutta were present at the prize distribution ceremony.
