The Supreme Court has listed on Friday to pass orders on the appointment of vice-chancellors to various universities in Bengal that had witnessed a political slugfest between chief minister Mamata Banerjee and governor C.V. Ananda Bose. "List on 17.05.2024," a bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice K.V. Viswanathan said in an order after briefly hearing senior advocate Jaideep Gupta, who appeared for the Bengal government, and the counsel appearing for the governor, as attorney-general R. Venkataramani, who was to appear for Bose, was not present.
