Cyclonic system over Bay of Bengal

A cyclonic circulation that is expected to take shape over the north Andaman Sea and its neighbourhood on September 29 is “unlikely to turn into a cyclone”, the Met office said. “A cyclonic circulation is likely to emerge over east-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Andaman Sea off Myanmar coast around September 29.

Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over east-central Bay of Bengal off the Myanmar coast during the subsequent 24 hours,” said a Met update. “The system can intensify even after becoming a low-pressure area but is unlikely to reach the stage of a cyclone.” The next couple of days in Kolkata are likely to remain hot and humid. But clouds and rain are likely to make a comeback over the weekend.
