Kolkata Metro nurse conferred National Railways Award

The award came in recognition of Sanghamitra Banerjee’s exemplary efforts in grooming the paramedical staff at the hospital for newly procured medical equipment to treat Covid patients

A nursing superintendent at Tapan Sinha Memoria Hospital, Metro Railway, has won the National Railways Award, 2021.

The award came in recognition of Sanghamitra Banerjee’s exemplary efforts in grooming the paramedical staff at the hospital for newly procured medical equipment to treat Covid patients.

“Indian Railways gives awards to staff for their outstanding performance on regular basis in every year during railway week. This award boosts up the employees to perform better for their organisation,” stated a press release on Wednesday.

Arun Arora, general manager, Metro Railway Kolkata, presented the award to Banerjee.

Banerjee also “played a pivotal role in the commissioning of the state of the art facility- centralised Medical Gas Pipeline System in the Tapan Sinha Memorial Hospital of Metro Railway, Kolkata,” the press release stated further.

Pedestrian hurt

A bus hit a pedestrian on MG Road on Monday evening. The injured is being treated at a hospital. The driver has been arrested.
