Jadavpur University announced on Wednesday that the original final degree certificates of the students who graduated last year will be distributed in-person in a staggered way as the university could not hold its convocation on December 24 because of the fresh spike in Covid cases.

The distribution of certificates from the office of the controller of examination will start on January 17 and continue till February 28.

“To avoid gathering in the present pandemic situation, students are requested to come as per schedule following the Covid protocol,” says a notice signed by Satyaki Bhattacharya, the controller of examination.

The department-wise schedule in the respective faculties — science, engineering and arts — and the documents to be brought by the students have been uploaded on the university’s website.

JU’s executive council had on December 19 decided that degree certificates of the graduating students would be uploaded because the convocation could not be held.

Those who want to take the original certificates can come to collect them, said registrar Snehamanju Basu.
