In pics: Cutting-edge defence technology on display at East Tech 2022

The Eastern Command of the Indian Army, in association with the Society of Indian Defence Manufactures (SIDM) and the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), organised East Tech 2022, an exhibition showcasing advanced and cutting-edge warfare technology.

The exhibition was held on July 7 and 8 at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan. It was inaugurated by Rana Pratap Kalita, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GoC-IC) of the Indian Army's Eastern Command.

A Narwhal unmanned aerial vehicle at the defence expo. It is used to deal with challenging operational areas and respond to difficult missions on time.

Snow goggles are regularly used for high-terrain combat. Equipped with anti-fog-coated lenses, they have a wide field of view and high durability.

Children enjoy the sight of a robot at the exhibition. The two-day event had 187 exhibitors at 269 stalls.

A soldier checks out various protective outfits on display. These high-durability outfits are made to help soldiers stay safe during high-risk military operations.

Army personnel check out an all-terrain tactical hauler. These vehicles can carry heavy loads over any terrain without reducing full-combat effectiveness and mobility on the part of the soldier.

The exhibition also showcased a defence helicopter. Apart from military operations, these helicopters are also used for high-risk rescue operations.

Minerva special purpose vehicles are used for both tactical and non-tactical military applications. These light-armoured vehicles are used in military operations, homeland protection and civil purposes.
