Multi-disciplinary artiste Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee is curating his solo lifestyle pop-up titled Shringar at The Bengal Ghorana (17B, Rammoy Road, Paddapukur, Bhowanipur (near Richie Motors) on September 2 and 3 from noon to 9pm. The exhibition will feature patachitra from Odisha’s Raghurajpur, a new collection of ceramic accessories, handcrafted trays and coasters, stoles and dupattas from different states, sunflower finger rings and unisexual dhotis inspired by Tagore’s seminal play Raktakarabi.

Speaking to The Telegraph about his unisex dhoti curation and how it is going to resonate with Tagore’s imagination, Sujoy said: “The play is extremely relevant, keeping in mind the political turbulence and the forces at war. It speaks of humanity in a larger context. I have used the metaphors of the characters of the play for the dhotis. The exhibition is going to present a gamut of lifestyle products. Bengal Ghorana’s food will make it even more special. I hope Calcutta will have a feast at this exhibition as they prepare to deck up for Pujo.”
