Actress-MP Mimi Chakraborty was a starry presence at the launch of Lifestyle’s Puja collection that she has curated, at their Quest mall store on September 5. She walked as the showstopper at the fashion showcase. This was Mimi’s third time curating a line for Lifestyle’s Puja special range and like every year, she had a lot of fun. “Puja means vibrant colours for me. I love yellows and greens as well as pastels. I made sure that the collection was comfortable. The clothes have a lot of detailing but they are comfortable. Calcutta is so humid that comfort was key,” Mimi told The Telegraph, sporting a pistachio green outfit. She said she loves shopping from Lifestyle for her entire family. “My mother keeps saying ‘aamar meye eta design korechhe!'”’ she laughed. With this experience under her belt, will we see her fashion label soon? “I had plans a long time back, but given my work and responsibilities, I couldn’t, but after these three successful years, I have confidence now. Let’s see!” she signed off.
The collection included easy-breezy Puja staples, ranging from straight pants, shirt kurtas, kalidar palazzos, co-ords, with lace detailing and gota work, slim-fit pyjamas, slim kurtas and Nehru jackets. “We are glad to unveil the Durga Pujo collection in collaboration with Mimi Chakraborty, who is a true fashion icon.
