Located on Sarat Bose Road and spread across 1,000sq ft, fashion designer Khushboo Bagri’s store that opened last year houses a collection of ethnic and Indo-western outfits, styled with a contemporary touch. Having earlier pursued a career in trading and manufacturing interior products as a part of her traditional family business, venturing into fashion designing was Khushboo’s call for passion back in 2011. “Until 2017 I was working with my father. All of us have a passion that we eventually follow. I always had it in me to create garments and the art of hand-embroidery fascinated me. I went to London to study for a year at Central Saint Martins and came back to launch my label in 2018,” said Khushboo, who now retails from various multidesigner stores across the country, such as Aza, Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop in Delhi and Mumbai, Anahita in Hyderabad, Fuel and Deval apart from her retail store and online platforms.

“My journey of designing started with a lot of experimenting. Our collection has lehngas, draped saris, sharara sets and lots of traditional silhouettes with a contemporary touch to it. Our designs are inspired by the present generation’s style sensibilities. Rich heritage and intricate hand-embroidery is the signature reflection of our brand. The hues and rich detailing make our ensembles a statement piece for all seasons to come.We mostly work with silk, organza and crepe,” said Khushboo, whose label focuses on occasion- wear including all kinds of wedding occasions. Talking about her present collection, Vintage Soiree, she said, “The collection is a celebration of various occasions. It is synonymous with glamour, perfection and elegance. It focuses on details, drapes and styles.”
