If you have been to Kankurgachhi, Phoolbagan or Salt Lake recently, you may have spotted pink-and-yellow carts selling coffee, whose aroma wafts around the area. Theka Coffee, of Shark Tank fame, has made its way to Kolkata and is hoping to change the way the city experiences coffee — one chilled bottle at a time.
The coffee carts, spread across 15 locations, sell cold brews made from ethically and locally sourced original Arabica coffee beans. Theka Coffee is smoother, less acidic and has a higher caffeine content.
Founded by Bhupinder Madan, to break away from the café-centric and overpriced coffee experience, Theka Coffee was set up to ensure good coffee is accessible at street corners and sidewalks.
“I tied up with Theka Coffee to bring in a new coffee experience for the people of Kolkata. With support from my friends, family, the Theka team and Bhupinder Madan, I aspire to build quality under the name of SNAP Food Fusion. From filling documentation to pulling carts, motivating my team to being a leader, I am doing everything to make it a success,” said 24-year-old Aryan Jalan, franchise owner, Theka Coffee, Kolkata.
They have four signature roasts: dark, medium and light roasted and black coffee cold brew, along with their flavoured range coming in four options: orange, hazelnut, popcorn and peppermint, each with a signature roast. They also have milkshakes in two flavours: chocolate and strawberry. The bottles come in pocket-friendly prices ranging from Rs 100-160. The carts operate from 1pm to 10pm everyday.
