‘Ma ke haath ka khana’

Nothing can beat the comforting taste of Ma ke haath ka khana, when you are living outside your home town and craving a home-cooked meal. Putting an end to the woes of students and working professionals living away from their homes, JustMyRoots has started a Delivery from Home (DFH) service.

“The feature of this app is very popular among our customers,” says Samiran Sengupta, CEO and co-founder of the app, which he founded along with Promita Sengupta and Rajan Sachdeva. “There are people who frequently use this feature to send food to their loved ones living away from home. Particularly during the pandemic, we witnessed a substantial surge in demand. During that time, our services played a crucial role in helping families deliver home-made food.”

The state-of-the-art packaging system used by JustMyRoots retains the aroma and taste of the food by maintaining the temperature at 2-8°C, without freezing it. The food usually reaches the destination within 24 hours. The service is available in all JustMyRoots operational cities which include Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and more.

Hyderabadi Biryani in Kolkata? Say ‘Aye!’

Whether you crave Hyderabadi biryani or Lucknowi kebabs, JustMyRoots ensures that city specialties are delivered to your doorstep, no matter where you are in India.

The app collaborates with popular restaurants and brands in 28 cities to offer a diverse range. In Kolkata, you will find restaurants like Arsalan, Aminia, Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor, Blue Poppy, 6 Ballygunge Place, Doiwala and more on board.

One can also order Bengal’s favourite fish from the app be it pabda, boal, magur, shingi or aar. So it is not just about fast food; you can also explore ingredients and gourmet dishes from across cities.

The app’s indigenous brand

Sugati is the app’s indigenous brand, which claims to offer unadulterated, fresh and organic spices, ghee, jaggery, and more. Supporting the Atmanirbhar Bharat Project, Sugati sources its products directly from villages and self-help groups across India. So you not only enjoy ingredients from your hometown, but also encourage small businesses and the use of locally-sourced ingredients.

In line with the season of mangoes, the app has gone the extra mile, flying down the famed Himsagar from West Bengal.

International deliveries - the taste of India worldwide

The app goes beyond borders by delivering edibles to more than eight countries, including the UK, USA, UAE, Oman, Qatar and Singapore. One can order Indian sweets, savouries and other non-perishable items from a vast menu. Iconic Indian brands like Mukharochak (Kolkata), Balaram Mullick and Radharaman Mullick (Kolkata), Maganlal Chikki (Lonavla), Karachi Sweet Mart (Pune) and more are enlisted.

The app claims to have a 600+ strong list of Indian brands that people can choose from any of the serviceable countries. “We are eager to expand across all cities in India and explore international destinations as well,” concluded Sengupta.
