Panasa, a new restaurant from the house of Mintelaa, has opened doors in a cosy corner of Salt Lake. Boasting pure vegetarian food and impeccable ambience, the restaurant captures the spirit of Mintelaa, amplified many times over to cater especially to a family crowd.
Owned jointly by Amit Bajoria and brothers Abhishek and Rohit Karnawat, the restaurant is meant to be an extension of the cafe for people who want to drop by with their families or children. “Since we’d already had Mintelaa for a while, we had observed that customers had no proper menu for their families or kids. There was no family atmosphere. So, we decided to open a fine-dining restaurant where people would be able to come with their families,” said Abhishek Karnawat when t2 caught up for a chat.
The interiors of the restaurant are a warm mix of gold, green, and brown, providing an atmosphere that’s natural and gentle on the eyes. Big windows overlook a bustling thoroughfare allow access to plenty of natural light that floods the restaurant from one end to the other. The cosy atmosphere is heightened by gold and silver chandeliers that adorn the ceiling, and the music of Kishore Kumar songs that play lazily in the background as one digs into the food.
The menu that Panasa offers is multicuisine, boasting some classic dishes from across the globe as well as brand-new twists to heighten the effect on your taste buds. “The reason why we chose to serve only vegetarian food in this restaurant is because the vast majority of our customers in Salt Lake prefer vegetarian food. But we’re looking forward to opening another outlet soon, which will serve non-veg food as well,” said Abhishek.
