Hammer has added a couple of floors to the existing hangout on Park Street, both open-air zones. The levels are spacious, airy and classy. Scenographer Swarup Dutta is the man behind this facelift. “After I finished Octa, I was approached for the rooftop. It was mostly green with foliage in the wall and I thought it’s interesting to retain that. What I have done is I have replaced the garden furniture with wicker and cane one downstairs and a more Parisian seating upstairs. The floor is graphical with accents of black and I have taken the same element onto the walls. So the space can be used for two different parties and it’s cosy and non-cluttered.”
The menu too has been updated too. While new items make up 70 per cent of the menu, the signature items have been retained.
Here’s what we sampled and savoured, all while enjoying the cold breeze, sunset and a different view of Park Street.
“Swarup is a close buddy and he did Octa as well. He envisions an interior project as fashion and turns a dull corner into a cool one. We had Hammer which has loyalists and we wanted to offer more. So, we added more floors to give an open-air option that’s a trend now. Our motto is good food, good mood. And hence we have brought a new menu keeping our signature dishes intact. Plus, we have a good Delhi-based coffee brand. So, Hammer now has everything. From coffee to hard drinks and breakfast to dinner and private space to an open- air one,” said Abhishek Kajaria, owner ,Hammer.
