CC&FC celebrated Poila Baisakh with music, fun activities and a sumptuous spread. Dressed in their traditional best, men chose to wear dhoti and kurta and the women opted for saris. While the beautiful decor was an eye-catcher, the sweet scent of jasmine wafting in, was refreshing. The hot weather couldn’t dampen the spirits. One of the main attractions was a performance by Shubham Banerjee of Sa Re Ga Ma fame and Somchanda Bhattacharya of Indian Idol fame who entertained the members and guests with their melodious playlist. There were also prizes for the Best Dressed Couple, the Best Dancer and many more, which added to the mood. The celebrations continued way past midnight, with an in-house DJ, playing musical hits.
