Monkey Bar launches a new food menu along with a unique music and lifestyle event

The event- The Salty Groove featured PhreshPrince, DJ Tim-Me, DJ Dwell and was supported by 10 Hills Studio

Danish Ashraf displayed vinyl records at The Salty Groove. Danish owns the oldest and most well-known shop of vinyl records, The Record Prince in Calcutta, which was established by his father. Have you witnessed a DJ event where music is played only using vinyl records? t2 did, at a unique music and lifestyle event, The Salty Groove, hosted at the Monkey Bar Kolkata on December 10. The event featured PhreshPrince, DJ Tim-Me, DJ Dwell and was supported by 10 Hills Studio. It celebrated vinyl music with the help of Danish Ashraf of The Record Prince, Calcutta’s longest-standing vinyl record shop, and streetwear with the assistance of 10 Hills Studio, which is a multi-brand sneaker and streetwear store. Monkey Bar Kolkata also took the opportunity to showcase its newly launched menu titled Tales of India, inspired by the vibrant flavours of India. The new offerings are available across India at Monkey Bar outlets in New Delhi, Bangalore, Calcutta, Mumbai and Chennai.

Tushar Bagla aka PhreshPrince put The Salty Groove together. He said, "I wanted to do a DJ event where music is played using vinyl records since they are a much lesser seen aspect in the DJ scene. I have a collection of over 500 records at home."

Timothy Francis aka DJ Tim-Me has been DJing for 16 years now and he played at the bar too. He said, "I have seen the DJ scene shift from CDs to MacBooks. I believe DJing does not just mean loud parties, it also means that you are just chilling and nice music is playing."

The delicious Lahabi Mutton Kabab is a fulfilling dish which is made of Wazwan-style, Kashmiri Lahabi kabab; layered with a mint and hung curd emulsion on a Kashmiri Lavasa bread. It is served with a smoked tomato and yogurt gravy.

The Prawns Kheema Pav is a mouthwatering dish that contains minced prawns cooked with confit tomatoes, garlic, ginger and 12-spice mix. It is served with butter garlic pav, kachumber salad and lime pickle.
