In times of tragedy, the world comes together and the nightlife industry in Kolkata, too, has taken a bold step. Even after line-up confirmations, accommodations of the artistes and more, several venues, organisers and promoters in the city have cancelled or postponed their weekend gigs, due to the tragedy that took place in the city. My Kolkata lists a few venues and event organisers who have chosen to have a quiet weekend.
Miss Ginko
Miss Ginko was set to host Kayan on Saturday. But, this Gariahat venue had another celebration in hand, as they are heading for their second anniversary. After Kayan backed out of the show, the next person in line was SickFlip. But again, after confirmation, it was the venue that decided to cancel all events for the weekend.
Autoplay — event planner
Ukrainian techno artiste, Adam Sellouk, was set to have a banger of a night at One8 Commune on Friday night, but the event planners decided to back out in light of the tragedy. In one of their Instagram stories, the company wrote that even though the tickets and tables were sold out, they will stick with the decision and share information on rescheduled dates.
Reverb Entertainment — event planner
Reverb Entertainment has conceptualised a long-term solution to ensure women reach home safely after their events. On their Instagram feed, the events company informs that they will be assisting to help women reach home safely after their events. They request to be made alert three days before the day of the party.

Little Bit Sober
Nishit Arora, aka Smoke Signal, was about to disco and retro the night away at Little Bit Sober. Even after coming up with a cool Reel promoting the different parts of the city, the venue and the artistes decided to back out of the Saturday gig. However, they do plan to come up with another date for the same event.
