Pramila Shah, director of cultural events at KCC, also spoke at the programme. The event not only celebrated Tagore through music and performing arts but also with an exhibition titled ‘Verses and Variables’ — sharing his exchanges with statistician Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis

Fahim Hussain Chowdhury, a musician from Bangladesh, sang Rabindrasangeet as part of the event ‘The Melody of Monsoon’ or ‘Shrabaner Dharar Moton’

Next up was a dance performance titled ‘Shraban Sandhya’ by the members of Dancers’ Guild

Theatre was a part of the celebrations, and plays like ‘The Prophet and the poet’ (above) and ‘Robi's Garden’ were enacted. While the first play focused on Tagore’s relationship with Mahatma Gandhi and the letters exchanged between them, the second play gave an insight into the world of Tagore and his writings

Thespian Vijay Padaki took part in the event and also donned the director’s hat for ‘Robi’s Garden’
