A newly formed social organisation took out a march in Jamshedpur to protest against ethnic strife in Manipur and appealed to President Droupadi Murmu for a judicial probe into the violence.

Nearly 50 members of the United Forum for Peace and Justice, formed barely a week ago, took out a march for over two kilometres in Sakchi paying obeisance before the statue of Babasaheb Ambedkar and submitted a memorandum to Murmu through East Singhbhum deputy commissioner on Thursday.

“We have great expectations from our President as she has a deep connection with Jharkhand. We appealed for a judicial probe into the Manipur violence under a sitting justice of the Supreme Court to find out the role of the BJP-led state government in the ethnic violence and make the report public,” said Kulbinder Singh, an advocate and also spokesperson of the forum.
