Ranchi deputy commissioner Rai Mahimapat Ray had directed the door-to-door medical screening, which was carried out at Chutia and Murung Toli in the Namkum block. The teams, comprising doctors, ANMs and sahiyas, went door-to-door asking people about the possible symptoms of the virus. They also took their body temperature through an infrared thermal scanner.

A total of 700 houses, with about 3,000 people, in containment areas and buffer zones were covered in the programme. The district was divided into zones following the outbreak of the virus.
