The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday summoned Congress treasurer Pawan Kumar Bansal in a money laundering probe linked to the National Herald case that involves members of the Gandhi family.

On Monday, the agency had questioned senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge in connection with the case.

The case is based on a complaint filed by the BJP leader Subramanian Swamy before a trial court in 2012.

Swamy alleged that Congress leaders were involved in cheating and breach of trust in the acquisition of Associated Journals Ltd, which publishes the Herald, by a Congress-owned company called the Young Indian.
