A Dalit woman was allegedly gang-raped and her five-year-old son killed by five persons in Bihar’s Buxar district on Saturday, leading to an outcry from various sections of the society.

The perpetrators, who were allegedly inebriated, tied the woman and her son with wire and threw them into a canal. The woman survived but the child drowned.

According to the woman’s father, she had gone to withdraw money from a bank.
