Fully vaccinated recipients of the homegrown Covid-19 vaccine Covaxin, whether previously infected by Covid-19, uninfected, or infected post-vaccination, show sufficient immune responses against the highly contagious Delta and two other coronavirus variants, scientists said on Monday.

The scientists at the National Institute of Virology, Pune, have found that while immune responses in the three groups of people show reductions in activity against Delta, Delta-plus, and a third variant, B.1.617.3, they remain sufficiently strong to neutralise all three variants.

“All three sets of people have enough (immune) responses to neutralise each of the three variants,” Pragya Yadav, who led the study, said.
