A music video on the “tireless efforts” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to deal with the novel coronavirus pandemic situation was released here on Saturday.

The video was released by former Union minister and veteran BJP leader Kabindra Purkayastha.

The 2.52minute song titled Dada O Dada, which is a mix of Bengali and Assamese, has been sung by Gautam Gupta, the president of a socio-cultural organisation, Dreams, and written by Silchar-based lyricist Monoranjan Malakar. The video has been created by Arindam Goala, a photographer, and the music arranged at Ritika Studio here.

Gupta said Modi’s pro-active approach in dealing with the precarious situation, caused by the outbreak of the coronavirus, was commendable and that the nation is in the safest hands in terms of tackling it. He also heaped praises on Sonowal and Sarma for their continuous efforts to ensure the safety of the people of the state.

Purkayastha lauded Gupta for his initiative of coming up with the song, saying this would strengthen the resolve and hopes of citizens in these troubled times.

Malakar said the video was a token of thankfulness to Modi, Sonowal and Sarma for their dedicated and dynamic efforts to protect countrymen from the pandemic.

He hoped the creation in Assamese and Bengali languages would nourish the bond and harmony between the Brahmaputra Valley and the Barak Valley in the days ahead.

This is most probably the first coronavirus-related song released in Assam.
