The party will also start a concurrent booth-to-district-level yatra in the state to expand its reach and influence.

“Our party will now start the yatra in Bihar on January 5. It will kick-off from Banka with a huge public rally where our party president Mallikarjun Kharge will be the chief guest,” Bihar Congress chief Akhilesh Prasad Singh said.

Singh, who took charge as the state party unit chief a week ago, held a discussion with MLAs, MLCs and other senior leaders before briefing media persons about the changes.

All India Congress Committee Bihar in-charge Bhakta Charan Das was also present at the occasion.

“A ‘haath se haath jodo’ (connect hand to hand) yatra will also run concurrently with the yatra for around two months. Congress workers and leaders will take out rallies from booth level to district and state headquarters as part of this. It intends to strengthen the party and make the common people aware of the success of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra,” Singh added.

Congress MLC Prem Chandra Mishra added that under ‘haath se haath jodo’ yatra, party workers would conduct a door-to-door campaign.

“They will put stickers and messages of the party on the houses. Members of the Youth Congress and the National Student Union of India (NSUI) will take out motorcycle rallies in villages and cities. Congress flags will be hoisted atop houses and videos of the historical, emotional addresses of our leaders will be played,” Mishra said.

He also said the party workers will also distribute pamphlets containing a charge sheet against the BJP government.
