An Indian Air Force junior warrant officer was stabbed to death allegedly by the liquor mafia in dry Bihar when he objected to the transportation of the contraband through his agriculture field in East Champaran district.

Junior warrant officer Aditya Kumar, 42, was killed at his Tiwari Tola village in the Dakshini Madhubani panchayat area on Friday night. Posted in Amritsar, he had come home on leave.

Aditya’s father Chandeshwar Tiwari said he and his son had “gone to the family farm to keep a watch at night”.

“We saw a group of people ferrying liquor. My son confronted them. They assaulted him and stabbed him to death in front of my eyes,” Tiwari told journalists.

Police had on Saturday attributed Aditya’s murder to a property dispute.

After an uproar, the police registered an FIR against six named and several unnamed people.
