UFC 311: Islam Makhachev retains lightweight title, Merab defeats Renato and more

In the main event, Russia's Islam Makhachev squared off against Brazil's Renato Moicano. In the first round, Renato landed a right hook and almost knocked Makhachev down.

Makhachev remained greatly composed and went for the Brazilian's legs the moment opportunity bloomed. With less than a minute left in the first round, Makhachev submitted Renato with a D'Arce choke to retain his lightweight title.

Merab landed 143 strikes on Umar. In addition, the Georgian fighter had seven successful takedowns.

While Umar's ground game was not so successful, his striking was pretty accurate as he landed 113 strikes on Merab.

There were times when it seemed like Umar had Merab in fix. However, the latter fought back and stood his ground.

Jiří Procházka vs. Jamahal Hill was highly entertaining too. In the third round, Procházka dropped his American opponent with a beautiful cross.

As Hill struggled on the ground, the Czech fighter rained punches on him, ultimately winning the match via KO.

Argentina's Ailin Perez locked horns with Brazil's Karol Rosa from the women's bantamweight division.

Although Rosa landed more shots, Perez outshined the former in terms of significant strikes landed. After the three five-minute rounds, the Argentine mixed martial artist won the contest via unanimous decision.

Japanese mixed martial artist Rinya Nakamura shared the octagon with Tajikistan's Muin Gafurov.

While Nakamura had a few moments of success, Muin's experience overshadowed the former. The fighter from Tajikstan also won the fight via unanimous decision.
