Director Raj Chakrabarty and actress Subhashree Ganguly welcomed their second child, a baby girl, on Thursday. Raj shared the news on his social media handle along with the name of their daughter — Yaalini. “Our home has been blessed with a sweet little bundle of Love. We’re extremely overjoyed! Seeking only love & blessings for our little princess,” the Abar Proloy director wrote.
Raj and Subhashree, who tied the knot in 2018, embarked on their parenthood journey with the birth of their son, Yuvaan, on September 12, 2020. The couple announced their second pregnancy by posting on social media an image of Yuvaan wearing a white T-shirt with the words ‘Big Brother’ on it, while they held his hands, hinting at the imminent addition to the family.
Their colleagues and fans flooded the comment section with congratulatory messages for the family. Among the industry colleagues who wished Raj and Subhashree were Mouni Roy, Vikram Chatterjee, Monami Ghosh, Sayani Gupta, Rooqma Ray and Angana Roy.
On the work front, both Raj and Subhashree made their OTT debut in 2023 with Subhashree earning accolades for the Hoichoi series Indubala Bhaater Hotel. Raj directed the ZEE5 thriller Abar Proloy, a spinoff of his 2013 film Proloy, which became the most-watched Bengali series on the streaming platform.
