Actresses Raima and Riya Sen on Friday mourned their father Bharat Dev Varma’s demise, sharing never-before-seen family photos from their childhood and writing a note in remembrance.
Varma, husband of actress Moon Moon Sen, died on November 19 at his residence in Kolkata.
“Daddy Can’t write anything yet. Words fall short of what a great father and husband you have been. Till then Dad may you be happy wherever you are and live king-size like you always did ❤ ️will miss you always and love you,” Raima wrote alongside a series of unseen pictures of Bharat Dev Varma.
Raima’s sister, actress-model Riya Sen, also expressed her sorrow by sharing a bunch of Varma’s old photographs, captured at various moments of his life. One of the pictures features Varma posing with his family. Veteran Bengali actress Suchitra Sen also features in the photo.
Another picture shows Varma in conversation with veteran actor Sanjeev Kumar on the former’s wedding day.
According to sources, an ambulance service from a private hospital in south Calcutta was summoned to the Harrington Street residence, where Varma lived. He breathed his last before the ambulance could reach his residence.
