After the global success of Cunk on Earth, mockumentary maker Philomena Cunk is back with a new series, Cunk on Life. Diane Morgan reprises her role as the brilliantly clueless yet oddly insightful documentarian tackling humanity’s most profound questions this time: What is the meaning of life?

In Cunk on Life, the intrepid host explores a vast range of topics, from the origins of the universe (the Big Bang) to the quirks of quantum physics, and the philosophies of existential thinkers.

Cunk’s journey takes her to some of history’s most notable figures, from Vincent van Gogh to Friedrich Nietzsche. The trailer also mentions Cunk’s aunt Carol, who has tried to solve humanity’s unsolved riddles.

Explaining the concept behind the series to BBC, Diane Morgan said, “My earlier documentaries, like Cunk on Britain, had me braving cold locations and topics. With Cunk on Life, I wanted to take a warmer approach. The series is all about what it means to be human, and how we cope with life’s ultimate pointlessness.”

Cunk on Life will premiere in the UK on BBC iPlayer on December 30, and will be available to Netflix subscribers worldwide from January 2. Meanwhile, her previous adventure, Cunk on Earth, is already streaming on Netflix for those looking for more of Cunk’s unique, hilariously misguided exploration of the world around her.
