Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, who made her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan with Raees in 2017, has shared fresh pictures from her October 1 wedding with businessman Salim Karim. The new set of snaps feature her colleagues, friends and cousins. Here’s a look.
Mahira opened up about how her childhood friends and cousins insisted on arranging for a dance programme even though she didn’t want to hold any such event. The 38-year-old actress further wrote that she realised later how her loved ones just wanted to celebrate her wedding in full swing.
Mahira posted a picture with her best friend Insia Faisal who surprised the actress by visiting her during her Mehndi ceremony. “It’s her birthday today - I love you my insia lotia. Always and forever ♥️,” Mahira wrote on Instagram.
“My childhood friends, work friends, my cousins… had seen it all with me - held me when I was down and clapped when I succeeded. I had done the same with them,” the actress wrote alongside pictures with her close ones.
Mahira looked radiant in a red-and-white floral printed lehenga matched with red bangles.
The actress looked stunning in an orange-tinted picture where she unfolded her polka-dotted chunri and wore it over her red-and-white lehenga.
At the Mehndi ceremony, Mahira sported a blue lehenga coupled with a red netted chunri. She remembered how Pakistani filmmaker Asim Raza had “put a whole string of motias” on her arm before she walked down the aisle.
The actress walked down the aisle with a canopy of yellow marigold flowers.
