Hunger

Netflix on Thursday released the trailer of its upcoming Thai psychological drama film Hunger. Directed by Sitisiri Mongkolsiri and written by Kongdej Jaturanrasmee, the film stars Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying, Nopachai Jayanama and Gunn Svasti in lead roles.

In the two-minute-15-second-long trailer, we see Aoy (Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying) running her family’s local stir-fried noodles restaurant. Her life changes when she decides to join team HUNGER, led by Chef Paul (Nopachai Jayanama) who introduces her to the dark sides of the fine-dining industry.

Hunger will be streaming from April 6.

The Big Door Prize

Apple TV on Wednesday late evening dropped the trailer of its upcoming comedy-drama The Big Door Prize. Based on a book of the same name by M.O. Walsh, the show is developed by David West Read. It stars Chris O'Dowd, Gabrielle Dennis, Damon Gupton, Josh Segarra and Christian Adam in important roles.

The two-minute-27-second-long trailer chronicles the story of a small town that is forever changed when a mysterious machine appears in the general store, promising to reveal each resident’s true life potential.

The Big Door Prize will be streaming on Apple TV+ from March 29.

Viduthalai Part 1

Sony Music South on Wednesday unveiled the trailer of its upcoming Tamil-language film Viduthalai Part 1. Directed by Vetri Maaran, the film stars Soori, Vijay Sethupathi, Bhavani Sri, Chetan, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajiv Menon, Ilavarasu, Munnar Ramesh and Saravana Subbiah.

In the two-minute-42-second-long trailer, we see a police operation to bring down the People’s Army, a fictitious separatist group that has taken up arms and is hiding in a forest. The video follows the trials and tribulations of a constable, Kumaresan (Soori), who wants to catch Perumal Vaathiyaar (Vijay Sethupathi), the elusive leader of the People’s Army. Perumal has waged a war against the authorities for harassing and torturing the women of his village and it seems like Kumaresan also joins him in the end.

Thuramukham

Magic Frames on Wednesday shared the teaser of its upcoming Malayalam-language historical drama film Thuramukham. Directed by Rajeev Ravi, it is written by Gopan Chidambaran and is based on a play of the same name by his father K. M. Chidambaran. The film stars Nivin Pauly, Indrajith Sukumaran, Joju George, Arjun Ashokan, Sudev Nair, Manikandan R. Achari, Senthil Krishna, Nimisha Sajayan, Poornima Indrajith and Darshana Rajendran in prominent roles.

The 46-second-long teaser shows glimpses of the infamous ‘chappa’ system of casual labour allocation and the primitive work guarantee scheme that was practised at the Mattancherry harbour in Kochi during the 1940s and ’50s. The teaser also introduces us to the prominent characters of the film.
