Team Boudi Canteen got together to launch the trailer of the September 30 film recently. Directed by Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Boudi Canteen stars Subhashree Ganguly, Parambrata and Soham. The film narrates the story of Poulami, an involved homemaker who is also an ardent home chef. But her mother-in-law, Surabhi, dismisses her talent as a common trait in most women. However, there comes a time when Poulami becomes the production head of her own food business, creating a fabulous range of dishes. Her husband is supportive and the business gradually booms. However, Surabhi gets to know about Poulami running a food business and comes down heavily on her.

Boudi Canteen is a light-hearted story about an aspiring woman entrepreneur and her struggle to fulfil her passion. It was a pleasure for me to direct such an ensemble of talented artistes for the first time. Subhashree here is a revelation while Soham is awesome. Joy Sarkar’s music has perfectly blended with the storyline. It’s the story of following your dreams,” said Parambrata.

“After working in the film I got to know about a new language through which we can talk about gender equality and women empowerment . The film has a lovely message,” said Subhashree.

“Satyajit Ray’s Mahanagar was a great inspiration when I thought of the crux of the story and we have tried to keep that humanism and general core family values intact in our endeavour. We want people to be really entertained while taking home some values and heartwarming moments from the film. Paramda also really liked the name. It’s catchy and makes people inquisitive about the film,” said writer-producer Aritra Sen.
