Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter Aaradhya twinned in shimmery black outfits at this year’s South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) held in Dubai on Sunday. Here’s a look.
The mother-daughter duo turned up in blingy black outfits. While Aishwarya’s attire featured gold detailing, Aaradhya looked stunning in a dress with silver accents. The intricate sequin embellishments added a touch of drama to their ensembles.
Aishwarya won the Best Actress in a Leading Role (Critics) Award for her performance in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2. The film is based on the popular Tamil novel of the same name written by Kalki Krishnamoorthy and features Aishwarya in a dual role as Nandini and Mandakini Devi.

What caught the attention of netizens was Aaradhya capturing her mother’s winning moment on her phone with a radiant smile.
Aishwarya received the award from Kabir Khan, who recently helmed Chandu Champion starring Kartik Aaryan. “@aishwaryaraibachchan_arb for winning Best Actress in a Leading Role (Critics) at SIIMA 2024! Your elegance and powerful performance in Ponniyin Selvan 2 had us all mesmerized,” the official Instagram page of the awards ceremony captioned the picture.
Aishwarya and Aaradhya sat next to the former’s Ponniyin Selvan co-star Vikram. Aishwarya and Vikram played an onscreen couple in both the Ponniyin Selvan films. The two previously shared screen space in Mani Ratnam’s 2010 film Raavan.
