The little tots of the city sure had a fun-filled time on November 20 taking part in World Children’s Day at Acropolis Mall which hosted the second edition of Kidsopolis, in association with t2. They enjoyed magic shows and walked the ramp. Actress Sonalee Chaudhuri dropped in for fun with Anisha Mohta, founder director of Binge Baefikar.
“Covid has turned children captive in their houses for the last two years. It has impacted them in manifold ways. They have become more glued to the virtual world of mobile games. It is extremely crucial to develop their listening and reading skills, creative thinking and power of visualisation and social skills. We were happy to have experienced good participation from children and parents in the second edition of Kidsopolis 2.0. We maintained strict Covid protocol and social distancing,” said K Vijayan, GM, Acropolis Mall.
The Kiddies
Ineysha Anish, a nursery student of The Heritage School, started walking on the ramp, even before the show started, giving out flying kisses! “I was waiting for a long time,” said the pink princess!
Parikshit Chakravarty’s cool quotient was higher than all of us combined! “My son has won in multiple categories,” said Parikshit’s overjoyed mother, as she jumped with joy!
Sumaira Pervez from St.Teresa’s School looked cute. “I loved the fashion show! My mother decided upon my outfit today,” said Sumaira, whose crop top and printed skirt made a fashion statement.
Funs and games
Children from Pathchala, a non-profit organisation working for underprivileged children in and around Kalighat, were also a part of the celebrations. The children went home with gift hampers, as they celebrated World Children’s Day and took part in the competitions too.
The fashion show was delightful. Arpita Basu, former Mrs. Bengal second runner-up, Miss Asia Universe Iconic Jury, actress, model and motivational speaker, judged the fashion show.
A kid’s event is incomplete without a magic show. Magician Kumar performed magic tricks like escaping from a knot, increasing the number of coins and more. He also taught the kids a few tricks to amaze their friends with!
