The North Bengal University has launched a separate sub-domain on the official website for examination-related facilities of the institution for the convenience of students.
Rathin Banerjee, the acting vice-chancellor, who launched the sub-domain on Monday, said the NBU students would be able to get all information regarding examinations easily.
“In this era of technology, if we do technology-centric integration, it will always be beneficial for students. This new page will show the exam routine and all other related details. It has been prepared in a comprehensive manner,” he said.
A sub-domain is a prefix added to a domain name to separate a section of any website.
“The principal website is nbu.ac.in. Students were able to get information about examinations from the website earlier but now, if they visit this website, they will find the link of the new sub-domain which will lead them directly to the page containing information on exams and allied facilities without any hassle,” said a source.
The VC said once a student registered with the varsity, he or she could carry out all examination-related tasks on the new page.
“If anyone wants to get their answer scripts reassessed or scrutinized, they can get it done through the webpage. We will also put questions papers from previous years which can help students,” he said.
Sources said there would be separate windows for all colleges affiliated with the NBU. When a student clicks the window, he or she will know what course that particular college is offering.
“Most students these days carry smartphones. If they go to the webpage, they will be able to fill up examination forms. Also, they can have a clear understanding of different courses offered by the colleges and the varsity. In future, we are also planning to introduce an online facility on the webpage for payment of examination fees,” said a source.
