A total of 25 school students who have won in the Veer Gatha project will be attending the Republic Day parade at Rajpath, New Delhi, as special guests on January 26.
The Veer Gatha project is a joint initiative by the Union ministry of education and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to encourage children to make inspirational art and literature assignments on war veterans of India.
The project was organised from October 21 to November 21, 2021 in schools across the country and the 25 winners have been unanimously announced by a national level committee.
Veer Gatha is a unique project that has been launched to inspire school children with the stories of war veterans and brave hearts. It has elicited a tremendous response from all over the country. The ministry of defence envisioned that school students would be motivated to do projects and participate in activities based on gallantry award winners.
More than 8,03,900 students from 4,788 schools spread over 28 states and eight union territories participated in this event and shared stories in forms of essays, poems, drawings and multimedia presentations. After several rounds of evaluation, on January 6, 2022, a group of 25 students, the ‘Super 25’, was declared as winners.
The winners will be given a cash prize of Rs 10,000 each and will be felicitated on January 25 upon their arrival in New Delhi. They will witness the Republic Day parade as special guests of the ministry of defence. The ministry of defence, ministry of education and MyGov have congratulated all the participants for their zeal and enthusiasm towards the Veer Gatha Project.
The winners from east India are Dibyanshi Das, Class IV, DAV, Odisha; Vidhi Dubey, Class VII, St. Arnold’s Public School, Odisha; Jishnu Ghosh, Class VIII, Durgapur Public School, West Bengal; Ishan Kumar Nanda, Class 11, Rotary Public School, Odisha; Annya Anyesha Mishra, Class IX, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Odisha and Khaidem Diyashori Devi, Class 10, DAV Public School, Manipur.
Odisha boy Ishan Nanda beautifully depicted the story of valour through his paint and brush. He said that Gallantry Award Winner CQMH Abdul Hamid, PVC motivates him.
The participants were divided into four groups – Class III to V, VI to VIII, IX and X and IX and XII.
