The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has issued the guidelines and schedule for the Class 12 practical and project examinations for the year 2024. The practical exams are slated to commence from December 1 and will run until December 15, 2023. Detailed instructions have been issued regarding the distribution of blank answer scripts and question papers to schools, which will be done on November 29, 2023. Additionally, the Class 12 board exams in West Bengal are scheduled to be held from February 16 to 29, 2024 as previously announced.

Schools will also conduct the practical exams, including the Music (MUSC) and Health and Physical Education (PHED), as permitted by the Council.
It instructed that the teachers of the concerned subject will only be permitted to conduct the practical examination. In instances where a subject teacher is unavailable within a school, a teacher from a neighbouring institution may be appointed. However, the school should request for the permission of the concerned Regional Office of Council. Candidates who have successfully cleared the practical examination in the previous year are exempt from reappearing. Only the answer scripts which have the signature of the examining authority will be considered valid.
The answer scripts in the order of registration number will be collected by the council as and when required. Practical marks for Class 12 students, along with project marks, should be uploaded on the official website between December 4 and December 31 for timely record-keeping.
