The EdTech company upGrad’s study-abroad vertical upGrad Abroad has collaborated with Ecole Superieur d'Ingenieur en Genie Electrique/Superior School of Electrical Engineers (ESIGELEC), France, to offer a bridge programme for students looking to pursue a Master’s in engineering.

BSc and BCA graduates can now expand their careers by enrolling for the course.

Powered by upGrad, ESIGELEC has designed a three-and-a-half-month online module that covers topics such as Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Signal and Systems, Control Systems, Biographical Studies and Communication Skills. The courses will be taught by a highly qualified international faculty. Upon completion of the course, candidates can also get post-study work visa support and career support.

Candidates looking to pursue a Master’s in Software Engineering and Digital Transformation need to complete their BCA or BSc (IT/Computer Science) with 60% marks. Candidates interested in a Master’s in Electronics and Embedded Systems, need to be a BSc (Electronics) Graduate with 60% marks. To transfer to ESIGELEC, France candidates must also maintain a minimum of 50% marks in all subjects of the bridge programme.

“With transnational education as our aim, we are delighted to partner with ESIGELEC France, one of the oldest and well-reputed French graduate schools to launch the Bridge Programme for Master’s Studies in Engineering. This partnership will further strengthen our programme and university portfolio and provide our learners with global opportunities across the field of technology. The bridge programme will not only aim to upskill learners in various technology disciplines but also aid them with working visa and career support, on completion to ensure that our learners can pursue a career in France,” said Ankur Dhawan, president, upGrad Abroad.

Cyril Marteaux, Director, academic affairs and international relations, ESIGELEC, said the programme will give science graduates openings hitherto reserved for engineering graduates only.

Through ESIGELEC’s state-of-the-art lab facilities, students will discover France’s excellence in technology and our international teaching faculty will expose them to different pedagogical approaches, making them ready to face the demands of multi-cultural work environments.

“We look forward to meeting the first cohort of the Graduate Bridge Programme in March this year. An exhilarating experience in the cultural capital of the world awaits them, not to mention all that Europe had to offer!” Marteaux said.

“Student exchanges are a cornerstone of the Indo-French friendship. I am glad that more and more Indian students are choosing France for their study abroad, especially following the 2018 agreement on Mutual Recognition of Academic Qualifications and France’s efforts to expand partnerships between higher education institutions in our two countries. France is home to world-class engineering colleges and this partnership between UpGrad & ESIGELEC is one more step towards achieving our goal of welcoming 20 000 Indian students in France by 2025,” said Emmanuel Lenain, Ambassador of France to India.
