The University of Sheffield has collaborated with Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust for International Development to offer three annual scholarships focusing on international students from developing countries, including India.
The scholarship can be availed for several courses affiliated to the Sheffield Institute for International Development.
Each scholarship offers a full tuition fee waiver and will cover the maintenance for university accommodation and a monthly stipend.

- The candidate must hold an offer by May 6, 2022, for one of the following courses at the University of Sheffield in the 2022-23 academic year — International Development MA, Environmental Change and International Development MSc, International Development (Masters in Public Health) MPH, International Law and Global Justice LLM, International Political Economy MA, Global Journalism MA, International Public and Political Communication MA or Intercultural Communication MA.
- Candidates must be classified as overseas students for tuition fee purposes.
- Candidates should be self-funded to receive this award and not funded by a research council, government, private enterprise, charity or any similar organisation.
- This scholarship cannot be awarded in conjunction with any other funding awards, either from the University of Sheffield or external sources.
- Attendance must be full-time.
- Candidates must begin studies at University of Sheffield in 2022. The scholarship cannot be deferred.
- Receipt of the scholarship is subject to successfully meeting any conditions attached to your offer before the deadline provided by the Admissions Service.
- Receipt of the scholarship is subject to successfully receiving a visa to study at the university in September 2022.
- Candidate must be a citizen of India.
Application process
Applicants will be automatically considered for the scholarship if they receive an offer to study one of the eligible courses and are a national of, or permanently domiciled in, one of the eligible countries or territories.
Applications will be assessed by a panel that will decide the candidate’s progress to the final stage of the application process. Selected candidates will be contacted for the next stage by the university before May 14, 2022.
