NCERT, which recently announced a new curriculum for classes 3 and 6 from the 2024-25 academic year, has further announced that NCERT is developing new textbooks per the National Curriculum Framework for School Education. The books will reach the students soon.
In a letter to CBSE, the NCERT mentioned that the new books for class 3 will be available by the last week of April, while the textbooks for class 6 will be available by mid-May.
The NCERT had earlier announced a bridge course to enable the teachers to prepare the students of Class 6 for the new curriculum. The council has announced that this course has been uploaded on its portal.
The NCERT textbooks are available in digital format on the NCERT portal, PM eVidya, and National Digital Library. These e-books can be downloaded free of cost.
The NCERT in its March 18 letter to the CBSE had said that the new syllabus will be structured in line with the recommendations of the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023 for the upcoming academic session 2024-25.
"This initiative is aimed at facilitating a seamless transition for students to new pedagogical perspectives and areas of study, particularly Arts, Physical Education, Vocational Education, and The World Around Us (for Grade 3), for which activity-books/textbooks are being developed with new perspectives aligned with NCF-SE 2023," said the NCERT circular.
