The vice-chancellor of Noida International University (NIU), Uma Bhardwaj, has been named India’s Most Impactful Vice-Chancellor 2021-2022.
Bhardwaj has been recognised by Daily Indian Media for being one of the “most distinct and respected personalities in the education world and an inspiration for many” at the EDUSTAR Leadership Awards 2022 event
“I am happy and honoured to receive this award. I am elated that my efforts at making NIU an innovative university have been recognised,” Bhardwaj said.

Bhardwaj has 30 years’ experience in academics and is known for her pioneering ideas and student-centric approach, according to an NIU release. She has held leadership positions in premier institutions prior to joining NIU. She is an implementer, who is able to successfully work both independently and as part of a team.
Bhardwaj also has hands-on expertise in coordinating with statutory bodies for various accreditations, academic and administrative support services. She is an author and has patents and research publications to her name.
