Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates are required to possess a minimum of 5 years of administrative experience, coupled with strong leadership qualities suitable for leading institutions of national importance.
  • A PhD with first-class distinction or equivalent in a field preferably related to Engineering is desired. However, individuals with exceptional backgrounds in Science, Mathematics, or Management will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated academic excellence and a robust teaching career spanning at least 10 years as a Professor in a recognised Engineering or Technology Institute or University are essential. Additionally, candidates should have experience supervising PhD students.

Age Limits

Applicants are preferably expected to be under 60 years of age as of the final date for receipt of applications.

Selection Process

  • A Search-cum-Selection Committee will evaluate applications and nominations received from distinguished individuals, recommending suitable candidates for approval by the competent authority.
  • The appointment will be on a contractual basis for a five-year term or until the candidate reaches 70 years of age, whichever comes first.
