The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to announce the schedule for the National Eligibility Entrance Test - Postgraduate (NEET PG) counselling 2024 in the coming days. The official NEET PG counselling schedule will be made available on the official website, mcc.nic.in.
Although the registration process for the first round of PG medical counselling commenced on September 20, there has been no official update regarding the final registration date or admission schedule. The delay has raised concerns among medical aspirants, with several student associations and resident doctors’ groups calling for the immediate release of the counselling timeline to avoid further disruptions to the academic cycle.
Some groups have shared a tentative NEET PG 2024 counselling schedule on social media, but the MCC website continues to state, ‘PG counselling schedule 2024 will be available soon’.
In a related development, the Supreme Court is set to hear a case on NEET PG 2024 on October 25. The petition, filed by candidates who appeared for the exam, seeks the release of answer keys, response sheets, and raw scores by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). Students have voiced concerns over the lack of transparency, particularly after the board introduced a normalisation process this year without releasing the NEET PG 2024 cut-off.
NEET PG counselling is conducted for admissions to All India Quota (AIQ) seats in MD, MS, DNB, and PG Diploma programmes across medical colleges nationwide.
