The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has released the information brochure of the Joint Admission Test for Master (JAM) 2024 on the official website- https://jam.iitm.ac.in/.
JAM 2024 is scheduled to be held on 11 February 2024 and will be conducted by IIT Madras. The entrance examination is for admission to programmes such as MSc, MSc (Technology), MSc-MTech Dual Degree, MS (R), Joint MSc-PhD, MSc-PhD Dual Degree, and Integrated PhD in IITs and IISc across the country. To be eligible for admission to the aforementioned programmes, candidates are required to qualify in the relevant JAM 2024 paper, as well as satisfy other eligibility requirements (ERs) and minimum educational qualifications (MEQs) for the same.
Subjects in which JAM 2024 will be conducted include Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH). The question paper for each subject will be divided into 3 sections comprising multiple choice questions (MCQ), multiple select questions (MSQ) and numerical answer type (NAT) questions.
Candidates who qualify in JAM 2024 and are eligible for admission to the various programmes in IITs for the academic year 2024-25 will not have to undergo any further evaluation process. In case of admission to IISc, candidates need to take part in a counselling process through CCMN (Centralized Counseling For M.Sc/M.Sc(M. Tech) Admission). There are approximately 3000 seats in IITs and over 2000 seats in IISc where admission will take place through JAM 2024.
