The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, has introduced a 4-year Bachelor of Science (BSc) course in place of the existing 5-year integrated Master of Science (MSc) programme.
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2021 batch will be the first lot of students eligible for the course. Students can choose between a 4-year BSc degree or an MS degree at the end of 10 semesters.
BSc programmes will be on offer in Applied Geology, Chemistry, Economics, Exploration Geophysics, Mathematics and Computing, and Physics. Detailed syllabus of the subjects will be available soon.
IIT Kharagpur has announced a full ride scholarship for the top 100 rankers of JEE Advanced 2021. The Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar Full Scholarship will cover all expenses of students till they complete their BTech course at IIT Kharagpur, said V.K. Tewari, the director of IIT Kharagpur.
The scholarship will be open from the 2021-22 academic session to students whose parents’ gross annual income is less than Rs 20 lakh.
