A skill-based bachelor's degree program has been created by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in partnership with the Indian Air Force to provide Agniveers with both knowledge and skill components.
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020's objectives are in line with the new program. Multiple entry and departure points will be available for the three-year degree program.
The Agniveers will get an undergraduate certificate upon successful completion of the first year with 40 credits, and an undergraduate diploma will be conferred upon successful completion of the second year with 80 credits. This adaptable framework enables students to leave and re-enter the program as necessary.
IGNOU, which offers a variety of programs for students pursuing bachelor's degrees in the arts, sciences, business, tourism management, and vocational studies (MSME), will impart the knowledge component of the degree program.
The skill-based programs will be offered through IGNOU and specialized training facilities within the Indian Air Force, and they will be in alignment with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF).
